The Learning Centre Experience
The Learning Centres are professional, adult
learning environments, located in easy to access venues. They
offer busy people the opportunity to access training at times
convenient to them.
The Learning Centre’s are open six days per
week, Monday to Saturday. Opening hours are Monday – Thursday
9-9pm, Friday 9-5pm and Saturday 9-1pm. There is no
requirement to attend on the same day or at the same time each
week; however most of the qualifications need you to attend 4 hours
each week.

confirm the hours you need to attend weekly.
Each learning centre has a team of dedicated
tutors and administrators that will make you feel welcome. You will
receive information, advice and guidance to get you on the right
course.
To get you started we begin by booking you in
for an Induction, this is normally a 1-1 session which allows the
tutor to create your Individual Learning Plan. At this time,
you will discuss the reasons for doing the course, and what the
relevant content should be to ensure you gain the skills needed.
From there, your tutor will create your plan to include your
learning activities and agree with you ongoing learning goals and a
final achievement date.
Depending on the qualification you are
studying it is likely that you will work independently with the
support of tutors when required. You can book in to attend
tutorials – small group sessions led by a tutor, designed for those
times when there are specific areas you need help with. Your
learning materials are broken down into easy manageable units of
learning. They have been written to support self managed
learning and you can dip in and out of these as needed.
Your progress will be reviewed regularly as
you work to achieve your ongoing learning goals.

confirm how learning is undertaken.
The overall time taken to achieve your
qualification will depend on a number of different points. We will
take into account how often you attend, what IT skills you are
starting with and how confident you are using a computer before
agreeing your Individual Learning Plan, this will help to determine
the length of time it will take.
